In the fall (in collaboration with the Alberta Council for Women's Shelters) we started circles with men to talk about «Me Too», consent and being a man in todays world. Now, we have decided to continue the circle and continue the conversation. Sessions will be open to all genders to process together current gender-based issues.
This is a facilitated space for all genders to process #metoo and help each other understand what has happened on a personal and structural level: what our past personal stories have been and how, together, we can move with personal stories into societal action. Let's create a way to move forward that holds complexity and compassion.
Supported by Robertson-Wesley United Church's Spirited Arts Movement, the participants in the circle will be invited to use the peacekeeping circle model and art-making to create safety and unpack the complexities of gender dynamics in modern society. Participants will work together to shape the groups direction. The workshops will be part of key facilitator, Brooke Leifso's master's research in Expressive Art — Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding. Participation in the research is voluntary.
