Calling all university area parents!
Bring your lunch and join us on October 11th from 12 — 1 pm at College Plaza. (Garneau Room, second floor of College Plaza Professional Building)
Our guest speaker is Ian Smith, Coordinator for a Child Friendly Edmonton. He will talk about this city initiative, which is based off UNICEF's international Child Friendly Cities Initiative.
Ian will talk about how Edmonton is working to make our city child friendly, in many different aspects. He'd love to hear feedback from parents, especially those working in the downtown core. Learn about the City's new «Child Friendly Business Recognition Program» that showcases businesses with amenities, activities and attitudes that make an effort to welcome infants, toddlers, and young children. There are so many ways children can get involved in the city as well, like «City Hall School» and other fun initiatives.
«The City of Edmonton is taking action to make our city a place that recognizes and reflects the needs of children, young people and their families.» — website
Kepler Academy’s Lunchtime Speaker Series runs from September until early December. Local experts from around Edmonton are coming to present to parents on hot topics over their lunch hour, both downtown at Sun Life Place (main floor) and in the university area at the College Plaza Professional Building (second floor). Parents are encouraged to bring their lunch and listen, learn and ask questions!
Please register as spots are limited and speakers may bring freebies and/or handouts.
